Synchronizing plant bill of process (BOP) and bill of equipment (BOE)

A manufacturing process is described by a bill of equipment (BOE) and a plant bill of process (plant BOP). It is common for both structures to share the same hierarchical structuring in zones and stations. BOE stations contain location information and define the equipment required for manufacturing. Plant BOP stations define the sequence of the process and store information about the parts to be assembled in the station. The BOE is linked to the plant BOP.

Before validation, all levels of a manufacturing line need to be defined twice: once for the BOE and once for the plant BOP. The common organization of the two structures is to reduce the effort required for manual definition of the line structures. In this process, you create the initial BOE from the plant BOP or synchronize the plant BOP and an existing BOE. You can also create a plant BOP from an existing BOE and synchronize it.

The synchronization action will create corresponding hierarchical levels as that of the source in the target. The number of levels is not limited. The mapping from plant BOP elements to BOE elements will be configured. You can link an existing plant BOP structure and an existing BOE. Also, you can synchronize the plant BOP structure and linked BOE. The synchronization will happen in the direction from the plant BOP to BOE and from the BOE to the plant BOP. You decide the direction of synchronization for the source and the target.

In preparation for synchronization, perform the following functions.

  1. Create a plant BOP from a BOE or a BOE from a plant BOP.

  2. Synchronize a plant BOP and an existing BOE.

  3. Link an element of the BOE to the plan BOP or the plant BOP to the BOE.

  4. Open the connected process structure or open the connected plant structure.

Only unconfigured structures are considered for the create, link, and synchronization process - namely Latest working. Except when using the ME-revise-AH action handler, effectivity, variant rules, closure rules, occurrence filters or any other configuration criteria are not allowed.
