Search for and apply saved variant rules

After creating a variant rule, you can save it as a saved variant rule (SVR). You can save an SVR to an item revision or a configuration context. In addition, you can create revisions of the SVR.

After you open a structure and you want to apply a variant rule, you can use the Search and Load Variant Rules dialog box to search for the SVR by name, description, revision ID, or ID.

Procedure

1. In Manufacturing Process Planner, open a structure.

2. Click the Open Saved Variant Rules Dialog button on the main toolbar.

3. Specify your search criteria and click Search.You can use a wildcard search such as an asterisk on any of the search fields or on multiple search fields.

4. To apply the SVR, select it and click OK.
