Navigating multi-level PERT flows

Using sequence view, you can navigate across multiple PERT flow hierarchies in a BOP.

Navigating Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) hierarchies across bills of procedure (BOPs) enables you to analyze the manufacturing process flow by highlighting predecessors or successors, focusing on specific nodes, and viewing external flows. In a plant BOP, you can focus on a specific line, station, or area.

To work with PERT charts, you begin by navigating PERT to a process page, such as the High Level Planning task page, from a work package that contains a BOP with multiple levels. In the BOP panel, select a node that contains multiple levels and click Sequence View .

In sequence view, select a BOP node and click Show Children to view the next hierarchy level. This example shows the children of the CAB SUB assembly.

To drill down to the next level, select another BOP node and click Show Children . The BOP node in this case is the child of CAB SUB, ROPS.

This example shows ROPS PREP LINE children.

To hide a particular hierarchy level, select the immediate upper hierarchy level BOP object and click Hide Children . In this example, the BOP object selected is ROPS PREP LINE.

To view external flows, click Show External Nodes . Green dashed arrows are displayed in the sequence view to represent external flows.

To identify the predecessors of a specific BOP node, select a BOP node and click Highlight Predecessors . In this example, the BOP node selected is CAB ASSY STN 100. The boxes and flow arrows of the predecessors are highlighted in blue. Click the same button to clear the highlights.

Use the Highlight Successors command to similarly highlight the boxes and flow arrows of a selected node's successors.

Click Switch to Graphical View to view the image attached to BOP nodes loaded in sequence view.

Click Switch to Graphical View again to revert to the non-graphical view.

Note

Only one image file attached to the BOP object can be displayed. You must attach the required image to the BOP object.

To save and load sequence views specific to your session only, use the following commands.

To do this Do this
Save the current layout of a sequence view Click Save Layout
Apply a previously saved preset layout Click Apply Layout , and then select a different layout.
Update sequence view to show only the immediate children. On the Process Planning task page, select a process station and click Load Sequence View .Click the same command again to revert to the previous sequence view.
