Export a custom workflow with an active change notice to ERP

For custom workflows, you can initiate a workflow with an active manufacturing or engineering change notice and collaboration context, make changes required of that workflow during your process, and export the workflow to a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) from outside the collaboration context tree. This example demonstrates this process using a simple custom workflow with a review task and a validate, release, and export handler.

Procedure

  1. In My Teamcenter, locate the collaboration context object to which the custom workflow applies.

Note You cannot use an execution plan type collaboration context object.

  1. Select the collaboration context and choose File→New→Workflow.

In the New Process Dialog dialog box, the process name is the same as the collaboration context.

  1. From the Process Template list, select a custom template.

  2. Locate and right-click an active change notice to associate with the workflow and choose Copy.

  3. On the Attachments tab of the New Process Dialog dialog box, click .

The change notice is attached to the workflow as a reference and the validate, release, and export handler is activated.

Results

In My Teamcenter, workers complete any tasks assigned to them. When the work is complete, the handler submits the results and a new item, named for the collaboration context object with a date/time stamp, is available. It contains a new request object that contains all data added to the workflow.

When the request object is selected, the data is displayed in the viewer.
