Clone objects

Clone functional groups and process area objects during process

    planning

During process planning, you can clone and reuse desired functional groups, process areas, process lines, and operations in the Product BOP Authoring and Process Planning pages.

The Copy and Paste commands are available, respectively, from the bill of materials (BOM) and bill of process (BOP) toolbars. In Easy Plan, the ability to drag files or objects to other objects works the same way as it does in other applications. For more details on resequencing and moving elements, see Rules for cloning, moving, and resequencing objects in the BOM or the BOP.

Prerequisites

You must set the MEProcess.MEProcess.PasteDuplicateTemplate preference to the correct values to control cloning rules:

  • MEProductBOP.MEProductBOP.PasteDuplicateTemplate—defines cloning rules for the product BOP.

  • MfgMEPlantBOP.Mfg0MEPlantBOP.PasteDuplicateTemplate—defines cloning rules for the plant BOP.

In addition, you must add the MEProcess.MEProcess.PasteDuplicateTemplate preference to the AWC_StartupPreferences in the Teamcenter rich client.

See the Preferences section in the Active Workspace Administration documentation for a description of preferences and how to set them.

Procedure

  1. Search for and open a work package, and then navigate to the Process Planning or Product BOP Authoring page.

  2. Select the item that you want to clone.

                 Note
You can only select and clone multiple items if they are
                         under the same parent object.

  3. Click More → Copy, and then select one of the following:

To add the operations within a current process resource,
select another operation under the process resource and click Show Menu
                      → Paste → → Paste
                         Before or Paste
After. The cloned item is added to the
process resource before or after the item you selected.
To add the operations to a different process resource,
select the process resource into which you want to move the operations and
                     click Show Menu
                      → Paste → → Paste
Into. The cloned item is added to the
process resource as the last item in that process resource.
