Specify partial match criteria

You can specify which data to compare between equivalent lines. You can choose to compare a specific set of properties or, if you are comparing enterprise BOP structures, you can additionally compare any relation type of these lines to other lines. For example, you can compare assignment or predecessor relations.

Procedure

  1. Click the Partial Match tab.

  2. On the Properties tab, select Consider values of properties when searching for a partial match.

  3. To manually show or hide processing of rolled-up variant conditions when comparing an engineering BOM to a manufacturing BOM, select Consider values of rolled up variant condition when searching for a partial match.

Note The Consider values of rolled up variant condition when searching for a partial match check box is disabled if you are comparing a BOM and a BOP.

You can hide the consideration of rolled up variant conditions even if the Rollup_Variant_Feature is set to true.

  1. Choose the properties that you want included in the accountability check by selecting them in the Available Properties list and clicking to move them to the Selected Properties list.

The accountability check matches lines in the source and target that have the same properties as those you select in the Selected Properties list. Your administrator determines which properties are available for selection in the AdditionalAccountabilityCheckProperties preference. Any differences in the selected properties are identified as differences between the structures. The values of the DefaultAccountabilityCheckProperties preference are ignored.

  1. If you are comparing enterprise BOP structures, click the General tab and specify the object relation criteria for partial match.

  2. If you are running an advanced accountability check after allocating operations or processes from a product to a plant BOP, but then create plant BOP- specific operations or processes that do not have origin links and therefore do not want them to appear as missing in source in the accountability check, click the General tab and select the Ignore mismatches caused by creation of objects in the derived structure check box.

The selected check box ensures that plant BOP- specific operations or processes are ignored while comparing both the structures. Only partial matches for allocated operations and\or processes between the product and plant BOP are displayed.

  1. If you are comparing manufacturing features, click the General tab and click Consider connected objects for partial match to include features in the comparison.
