Create or add DCDs while authoring work instructions
You can create a new data collection definition (DCD) or add an existing DCD while you author work instructions, and then view the DCD in Electronic Work Instructions.
Procedure
If you have not done so already, search for and open an existing work package, or create a new work package, and then navigate to the Work Instructions Authoring page.
Load and expand the assembly, and click in the Editor panel to place the cursor in the operation or process for which you want to write a work instruction and include a DCD.
To add or create a new DCD, type a work instruction and then type a double pipe (||), and do one of the following:
To add an existing DCD, select it from the list and then proceed to step 5. To create a new DCD, click Create DCD and then proceed to step 4.In the Create DCD panel, perform the following steps:
Click Type and select a DCD type.
Type a Name and click Create. Easy Plan adds the DCD to the work instruction and displays it in the DCDs tabTo attach the DCD to the work instruction click Save.
(Optional) In the process or operation click More View in EWI.
Easy Plan opens Electronic Work Instructions so that you can review the work instruction and all DCDs attached to it. Electronic Work Instructions lists all DCDs attached to the process or operation in the same order in which they are listed in Easy Plan.
