Managing and tracking changes > Using the change tracker
Propagate property changes to an impacted structure
When running the change tracker, you can select a change resulting from property changes in a line and propagate these changes to a target structure using the Impacted section of the Change Tracker view.
Note
Incremental change must be active in the target structure before you can propagate changes.
Procedure
- Select a property change in the top part of the Change Tracker view.
Teamcenter displays details about the changed properties in the Details section of the view.
- Click Compare to target in the Impacted section.
The Impacted section displays the target line that does not yet contain the changes. If the source line exists multiple times in the target structure, each target structure is listed here. Teamcenter displays the affected properties and their values in columns. Any differences in property values are shown in red. In the following example, the source line exists twice in the target structure. Using the buttons, you can switch the comparison of the source line to each of the target lines.
- In the Action column, select the desired action. Alternatively, if you want to apply the same action to all the lines with the changed properties, click the ... list below the table and select the appropriate action.
Tip If there are multiple impacted lines in the target structure with the same item ID, your administrator can set the preference MECTImpactedLinesSearchProperties to narrow the list. By default, the property bl_item_item_id exists in the preference but other properties (for example, the value bl_plmxml_abs_xform) can be added to further narrow the list.
