Consume a part

Procedure

Make sure that the correct structure is configuring the PAD structure.
Open the PAD Element view for the desired MEPADElement object.
Select one of the CORP_PART line items in the PAD Required Parts section of the Parts pane.Items are visible in the PAD Required Parts section of the Parts pane only if the root MEPAD item consumes these parts with an MERequired relationship.
Select the Consume option in the Element Description section, if it is not already selected.
Select the Paste button in the Element Description section.Teamcenter performs the following actions:

Depending on the values in the UPC-FNA box on the Parts tab in the PAD Element view, highlights the selected line of the product in the PAD Required Parts section in green. Note The values in the UPC-FNA box are only populated if the MECopyIDinContextToAssignedLine preference is set to true before you consume products and resources to the PAD structure.

Adds a new line to the Element Description section.

Displays the product in the Referenced Parts section.

Displays a consumed part in the tree structure under the MEPADElement object.
