Managing the enterprise BOP > Synchronizing plant BOP and BOE structures

Synchronization XML template

You can use a template object to create a BOE from the plant BOP, or visa versa. You use a preference and a dataset to setup the mapping between the structures.

Preference

The MEBOPToBOEObjectTypeMap preference is added to support the XML dataset (BOEPlantBOPTypeAndPropertyMap) which has object type and attribute mappings. These are used while creating a BOE structure from a plant BOP structure or vice versa.

Dataset

Using the BOEPlantBOPTypeAndPropertyMap dataset in the template, you can define the mapping between classes in the process area and corresponding classes in the work areas. The default mapping for types are as follows:

  • Process Area → Workarea Process Station → Station Process Line → Line Plant BOP → Plant

An administrator can add their own twin classes and map its own mapped attribute.

Default mapping for attributes

No mapping for persistent attributes is allowed. Only the mapping of BOM line properties to BOM line properties is allowed, meaning that only properties you can see in the trees in Manufacturing Process Planner are allowed. The following are the properties that are mapped by default:

  • bl_item_object_desc bl_item_object_name bl_sequence_no bl_variant_condition

The mapping will be done in an XML file where your administrator should modify it to add any relevant properties. A preference is defined to hold the XML data set name, which Teamcenter will read and process accordingly.

Refer to the XML file format in BOEPlantBOPTypeAndPropertyMap.xml (example below).
