Add and hide studies in a collaboration context tree for viewing in Study Manager

In many cases, large numbers of studies open in a collaboration context tree for use in Study Manager can become difficult to manage. While you can avoid this problem by organizing studies into multiple collaboration context trees that use unique study structure contexts, you can also add studies to a single collaboration context tree if your administrator has enabled Study Manager. Using this method, studies are no longer visible in the collaboration context tree, but can be opened in Study Manager from the structures contained in that collaboration context tree or from specific structure zones.

Note

• You can also save objects as collaboration contexts with studies.

• You can also save a study as a structure context by choosing Study Structure Context from the Complete List. Once the structure context is created, you can copy and paste the structure context to the top line of the collaboration context tree.

Procedure

1. Open a collaboration context (CC) that contains structures (for example, a process structure, product BOP, and plant BOP) and create studies that use objects within those structures (for example, processes and operations).

The studies open in Manufacturing Process Planner in the CC tree but are not yet part of the CC.

2. Press Ctrl, select each of the studies, and then select the top line of the CC.

3. Choose File→New→Workflow Process.

4. In the New Process Dialog dialog box, on the Attachments tab, the studies and top line are displayed in the Targets folder.

5. From the Process Template list, select Attach_studies_to_collaboration context and click OK.

6. Select File→Unload All, and then reload the CC.

The studies are no longer visible in the CC.

7. (Optional) View studies in CC or in a specific structure zone.
