Compare mismatches between a plant BOE master and a plant BOE
alternative
You can use a standard accountability check to compare mismatches between a plant bill of equipment (BOE) master and an alternative BOE target. You can then propagate changes to the target plant BOE.
Prerequisites
To use this feature, you must make sure that the work package contains a plant BOE, and you must define the relevant preference. Key preferences include the following.
| EP_ShowTileCountforToolbarChips | Configure whether the mismatch label should display the number of operations with mismatches, or the number of mismatched tiles in the Change Summary panel. Lets you switch between selecting orange chips in tiles and in the Change Summary panel. |
|---|---|
| EP_FilterCSPByOwningUsers | Configure the Filter By list to display a list of owning users for the impacted objects, instead of displaying the parent of impacted objects. |
| MEAccountabilityCheckSettings.WorkArea.WorkArea | Lists accountability check settings saved by the user via Manufacturing Process Planner. |
| EP_BOEBOEAlternativesAccountabilityCheckDataset, EPBOEBOEAlternativesACFavoriteDataset.xml | Contains .xml for the default Easy Plan Default setting. |
Procedure
On the Manage Work Package page, select Compare → Compare Alternatives - BOE , and in the Select Alternative dialog box, select a master or alternative work package that you want to compare to another work package. By default, the opened work package is considered the source and must contain a plant BOE.
(Optional) To switch the source and target, click the Set selected Work Package as "Source" check box.
Click Compare.
If the target work package is associated with an active manufacturing change notice (MCN) relevant to you, in the Track Your Work dialog box, do one of the following.
To track changes to the target BOE structure, from the Select Tracking Change list, select the MCN, and then click Proceed. To proceed without selecting a tracking change notice, select Work without tracking changes, and then click Proceed.
The Compare Alternatives task page is displayed, with the source plant BOE structure and target plant BOE structure visible. Any configuration applied to the work packages when you initiated the comparison is applied to the structures.Note You cannot change either structure configuration directly from the Compare Alternatives task page. You must configure the structures from the source or target work package.Press Ctrl and select one or more nodes from the source and the target BOE structures. Above the two structure panels, the Compare list is populated with saved accountability check settings.
From the Compare list, select a setting or accept the default, and then enable the Compare & Show Differences assignment comparison control. Comparison results are displayed in the Change Summary panel. The scope of object hierarchies that are being compared is indicated by blue symbols on the selected rows of the source and target structures. Orange symbols in the target structure signify objects with mismatches.
(Optional) In the Change Summary panel, do any of the following.
From the Filter by list, select a specific parent object to reduce the summary results displayed.Only mismatched child objects of that parent object are displayed. Expand tile groups in the Change Summary panel to review the types of mismatches and to review details of each. Click in the lower sections of tiles to sync to relevant objects in the source structure and the target structure, depending on the mismatch type.
To view a structure in sequential order, click Sequence View in the master or alternative toolbar. If the target object to which the propagation is being done is released, revise the object using the Revise command.
To propagate one or more mismatches to the target BOE, click Propagate or Propagate All.
Orange impact indications are cleared when you have propagated all mismatches successfully. If you opened the page with a change notice applied to the target BOE structure, you can also click Ignore All to clear the orange impact indications without propagating the mismatches.(Optional) If your work package includes a plant BOP, to compare a work package master plant bill of process (BOP) with an alternative plant BOP, from the Compare Alternatives task list, click Compare Alternatives - BOP.
