Configuring the accountability check

Using dynamic equivalence to locate matching EBOM and MBOM lines

In some cases, end users may want to locate matching BOM lines in a linked engineering bill of materials (EBOM) and manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) that have slightly different properties and therefore are not reported as equivalent when they run an advanced accountability check. For example, the lines may have different ID in context values, but the manufacturing engineer wants to find them to ensure that they have the same material quantity, and later address the difference in the ID in context values.

Using the MEAccountabilityCheckDynamicIDICProperties preference, you can define a list of internal BOM line properties to be used as dynamic equivalence criteria when searching for equivalent lines between EBOM and MBOM. For example, to compare absolute transform values, you can add the line bl_plmxml_abs_xform to the preference and the lines are reported as equivalent when you run an advanced accountability check. In the Advanced Accountability Check dialog box, on the Equivalence tab, end users can then select the Dynamic Equivalence check box to enable a dynamic equivalence check.

Note

Selecting the Dynamic Equivalence check box automatically selects the Multiple Match checkbox in the Display Options group on the Reporting tab of the Advanced Accountability Check dialog box. When Dynamic Equivalence is deselected, check boxes in the Display Options group return to their previous selections.

If no values are defrined in MEAccountabilityCheckDynamicIDICProperties preference, then item ID is the default attribute for comparison.
