Methods for adding components to a tool resource assembly

Teamcenter provides several methods that you can use to add components to a resource assembly.

Use one of the following methods to add a component to a resource assembly:

Hover the cursor over the resource component in the resource structure to reveal the Add icon.

  • Add Resource Component on the dashboard work area toolbar.

  • Add Resource Component in Machine Side .

  • Add Resource Components in Workpiece Side .

  • Matching Components tab in the primary toolbar. Note You must unpack a component before you add a matching component.

You can add components to a resource assembly using the UPWARDS (MACHINE SIDE) or DOWNWARDS (WORKPIECE SIDE) results and the Add icon. Note The available tabs and their order can differ, depending on what templates were imported and where you are in Active Workspace.

  • Copy , Paste , and Paste Resource Components on the dashboard work area toolbar.On the work area toolbar, use Copy and:

Paste —to add copied resource components from the clipboard.

Paste Resource Components —to add the copied resource components from the clipboard to the resource assembly and attach them to the selected component.

Note

After you add a new component, you can classify it by selecting the Classification tile on the Active Workspace home page.
