Configure translations
To ensure precise and contextually accurate translations, you can specify terms and their correct translations in Easy Plan. This approach minimizes random translations and aligns the output with the intended meaning, allowing you to define specific words and their corresponding translations to maintain relevance and accuracy.
Prerequisites
You must set the following preferences to the corresponding values:
| Preference | Value |
|---|---|
| EP_ExcludeDictionaryDatasetName | EPExcludeDictionaryForTranslation |
| EP_IncludeDictionaryDatasetName | EPIncludeDictionaryForTranslation |
| EP_SpecialKeywordsDictionaryDatasetName | EPSpecialKeywordsDictionaryForTranslation |
In addition, you must add
EP_ExcludeDictionaryDatasetName
,
EP_IncludeDictionaryDatasetName
, and
EP_SpecialKeywordsDictionaryDatasetName
to the
AWC_StartupPreferences
in the Teamcenter rich client.
See the Preferences section in the Active Workspace Administration documentation for a description of preferences and how to set them.
Procedure
On the Easy Plan home page, click the WI TRANSLATION SETTINGS tile. The Configure Translation page opens, containing three tabs—Include List, Exclude List, and Special Keywords.
To make changes in any of the tabs, click Checkout.
Note The symbol # denotes comments. When a sentence begins with #, the system treats it as a comment and disregards that line during processing across all tabs.To make a list of terms to include in the translation, select the Include List tab and follow these steps:
In the first row, specify the format of the list. The format is structured as Source, language1, language2, and so on.
In the second row, specify the first word in the source language, followed by its translation in the declared target languages.
In the following rows, continue by writing each subsequent word in the source language, along with its translation in the declared target languages. You may list as many words as required to ensure comprehensive translation coverage. To make a list of terms to exclude from translation, select the Exclude List tab and enter each word on a new line, using a comma to separate the word from any additional information you wish to mention.
To make a list of keywords, select the Special Keywords tab and enter every abbreviation followed by a comma and its full form on a new line.
Click Checkin.
To check for duplicate terms across the include, exclude, and special keywords lists, click Run Validation. The list of duplicates and contradictions is displayed, if there are any. Correct duplicates and corrections.
Correct duplicates and corrections.
After you have completed managing the translation settings, navigate to the Work Instructions Authoring page to translate the work instructions. Refer to Translate work instructions.
