Clone a process from a template while working in small product

    mode

When you work in small product mode you can load and work on a component that is part of a larger assembly, and not load and view the full assembly.

The Copy and Paste commands are available, respectively, from the BOM and BOP toolbars. In Easy Plan, the ability to drag files or objects to other objects works the same way as it does in other applications. For more details on resequencing and moving elements, see Rules for cloning, moving, and resequencing objects in the BOM or the BOP.

Restrictions and limitations

You must be working in small product mode to use this feature.

Prerequisites

You must set the value for the EP_PlanningForSmallProduct preference to true. In addition, you can also use the Process.Template preference to define which cloning rule process template is used to clone a process structure. Cloning rule options include:

• Mapping_Consume—Clones all consumed objects referenced by the template to a new object in the cloned structure.

• Referencing_Consume—References all consumed objects from the manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) into the cloned structure.

• Ignoring_Consume—Clones the process from the template, but ignores all consumed objects in the original process.

In addition, you must add the EP_PlanningForSmallProduct and Process.Template.Mapping preferences to the AWC_StartupPreferences in the Teamcenter rich client.

Procedure

1. Create or search for and open an existing work package search for an existing work package.

2. In the Process tile, click Add → Create Process from Template. Teamcenter Easy Plan displays the Create Process from Template dialog box.

3. In the Search for Process field, type a value and search for the process you want to clone.
   Tip You can use wildcard characters in your search. For example, type STN to search for a work area item name that begins with STN. To ensure the best search results, create a query with narrow parameters.

4. Select the process you want to clone from the search results, and then select a Cloning Rule from the drop-down list.
   Mapping_Consumes—Clones all consumed objects into the new object. Referencing_Consumes—References all consumed objects into the new object. Ignoring_Consumes—Ignores any consumed objects, and only clones the process.

5. (Optional) Update values in any of the following fields, and then click Create Process.
   
   
   Revision Rule—Select a different revision rule than the one applied to the template. The default revision rule is Latest Working.
   
   Name—Type in a name for the cloned process. If you leave this field blank, Teamcenter Easy Plan provides a name.
   
   Description—Type in a description.
   
   Process ID—Type in a process ID for the cloned process. If you leave this field blank, Teamcenter Easy Plan provides a process ID.
   
   Revision ID—Type in a revision ID for the cloned process. If you leave this field blank, Teamcenter Easy Plan provides a revision ID.
   
   
   Teamcenter Easy Plan clones the new process and adds it to the work package. In the Manage Work Package page, the Process Planning tile is now available.

6. (Optional) Click the Process Planning tile to navigate to the Process Planning page to continue planning in the work package.
   Tip You can click the Show Comparison button to review consumed items in the cloned process.
