Run an MBOM to BOP accountability check
When working with a manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) and a bill of process (BOP), you can use a change notice to run an accountability check to compare the source MBOM to a target classic, plant, or product BOP, then review and reconcile the resulting mismatches.
An accountability check provides a quick analysis of the impact that changes to a product BOP have on a plant BOP by reporting mismatch indications based on accountability check comparison settings in the Process Planning, Work Instructions Authoring, and Product BOP Authoring task pages. Use the Change Summary panel to review changes as separate tiles, and to propagate any preferred changes to the BOP.
Prerequisites
Define partial match properties in the preference CM_bomline_tracked_properties. To include the BOMLine property for:
A classic BOP, use the value MEAccountabilityCheckSettings.BOM.Process.
A product BOP, use the value MEAccountabilityCheckSettings.BOM.BOP.
A plant BOP, use the value MEAccountabilityCheckSettings.BOM.PBOP.
Procedure
Search for and open a work package and navigate to the Process Planning, Work Instructions Authoring, or Product BOP Authoring page.
If a manufacturing change notice is linked to your work package, the Track Your Work dialog box is displayed. In the Track Your Work dialog box, select a manufacturing change notice (MCN) and click Continue. MCN tracking is required to track assignment changes.
From the Compare list, select a criteria for comparison. Saved setting descriptions are populated from the Advanced Accountability Check settings in Manufacturing Process Planner. You can find the saved settings in Scope tab → Available Settings group.
On the preferred task page, enable Show Comparison. The assignment comparison control is enabled.
If it is not already visible, enable the Change Summary panel by clicking Show Change Summary . On the Process Planning task page, consumption and change indication icons are displayed, respectively, in the Assembly tab or the Target Assemblies panel, and in the Process panel. On the Work Instructions Authoring task page, consumption and change indication icons are displayed, respectively, in the Assembly tab and the Process tab. Change indications are displayed when you select tiles in the Change Summary panel in the Editor panel where process changes impact individual operations. Change indications are also indicated in impacted information panel tabs such as Parts, Resources, and Work Area.On the Product BOP Authoring task page, consumption and change indication icons are displayed, respectively, in the source MBOM panel and the target Product BOP panel.
(Optional) In the Change Summary panel, filter the scope of change target locations by selecting one or more MBOM parts and clicking Filter.
Scroll through the tiles to review changes to the MBOM not currently present in the target BOP.
Changes are displayed as separate tile notices for each BOP operation and its location, for example, a line or station. When filtered with your Compare selection, only specific types are shown, for example, a variant formula selection shows only operations with changes to a variant formula. When you click the operation's parent location in the tile, it synchronizes the selection to the other panels. Mismatches reported might include parts added, removed, or revised in the MBOM, and changes to partial match properties in the MBOM. Partial match properties are defined in the preference CM_bomline_tracked_properties. See Prerequisites. From the Change Summary panel tiles, verify your change notices.
To apply a change or new assignment, click Set Impact as Handled.
To remove a part no longer present in the MBOM from the product BOP, click Remove.
To set all changes and impact changes as handled, click Set All Impacts as Handled.
Note If you set change impacts as handled and want to undo the settings, for each tile to be undone, click Restore Impact Indication. To finish the comparison, disable Show Comparison.
Change indication icons are no longer visible in the panels, and the Change Summary panel is closed.(Optional) From the Compare list, select a different criteria for comparison, re-enable Show Comparison, and run another assignment comparison.
