Create an ERM recipe work package
Create a lab, general, site, or master recipe work package to begin defining recipe projects.
Procedure
On your Home page, in the Actions section, click Create Work Package.
Tip If the Home page is blank, and you are using an administrator account, use the following command to retrieve the tiles. Laboratory Recipe Work Package to create a work package for a laboratory recipe. A laboratory recipe is usually the first stage in a recipe's lifecycle, intended to define the recipe's formulation and to capture all required parameters before the product is ready for commercial manufacturing.Note If the Laboratory Recipe Work Package is not visible, ensure that the following preferences contain the following values.

General Recipe Work Package to create a generalized, plant-neutral work package. A general recipe is an abstract plan that establishes solutions and requirements for multiple manufacturing site locations. It is often based on a similar recipe. Site Recipe Work Package to create a work package for a specific plant or work site. Although a master recipe contains details and parameters for all specific sites, a site recipe takes into consideration the specific conditions or constraints of a particular manufacturing site, such as equipment, availability of ingredients, regulations, and cost of production. Master Recipe Work Package to create a master recipe that uses variants to define a more concrete manufacturing formula intended for specific batch sizes, for a specific plant site. A master recipe gathers ingredients, processes, and parameters from a site recipe and manufacturing formula, including equipment and other manufacturing-specific tools such as fixtures and tools.(Optional) To use a similar product as a template, in the Reference panel, click Add , and then do the following.
In the Search text box, type the text to search and press Enter.
Tip If there are too many search results, select Filters to filter the list by category, type, and other properties.
In the Results list, select the preferred reference and click Add Reference. In the Formula panel, click Add , and then do the following.
Tip A formula defines the materials, ingredients, and technical steps required to produce a specific product or batch, and serves as a source BOM in your work package.
In the Add Formula panel, in the Search text box, type the text to search using standard wild cards (*), and press Enter.
In the Results list, select the preferred formula and click Next.
Tip Click Open to preview a preferred formula. In your browser, press Back to return to the Manage Work Package page.
Select a Revision Rule to associate with the formula and click Add.
The selected formula is displayed in the Formula panel. In the Manufacturing Formula panel, click Add .
Define or locate a manufacturing formula.
Tip A manufacturing formula encompasses all the components necessary to manufacture one or more location-specific batches of a specific product, based upon site-specific concerns such as regional cost accounting and material availability. The manufacturing formula serves as the target BOM in your work package.
Click New, select a formula type from the Type list, enter a name and optional description for a new formula, and click Add.
Use the Search text box to search for a formula using standard wild cards (*).
In the Results list, select the preferred formula and click Next.
Select a Revision Rule to associate with the formula and click Add.
The manufacturing formula is displayed in the Manufacturing Formula panel.(Optional) In the Tasks panel, click the BOM Alignment task tile to display the BOM Alignment page.
(Optional) Use the BOM Alignment page to define a detailed BOM structure by assigning parts from the source BOM to the target BOM, using basic alignment commands, and running accountability checks.
In the Recipe panel, click Add , and in the Add Recipe panel, do one of the following.
To create a new recipe:
Click the New tab. Select a recipe type from the Type list. Enter a name and optional description for the new recipe, and then click Add.
To clone an existing recipe as a new object for reuse, for use as a template, or to create a site recipe:
Click the Clone tab. Search for and select an existing recipe and click Next.Note When creating a site recipe, you can clone either an existing site recipe or a general recipe. When you clone a general recipe, an identical copy is created with the same business rules.
Select a Revision Rule. (General and site recipes only) Select a Cloning Rule. Enter a name and optional description for the cloned recipe. If you are cloning an existing recipe as a new object for reuse, click Add; if you are cloning a recipe for use as a site recipe, click Add as Clone.
To use an existing recipe:
Click Use Existing. Search for and select an existing recipe and click Next. Select a Revision Rule. Click Add.
Note You can also transform a general or site recipe to a master recipe from the Recipe panel Add
command.
The selected recipe is displayed in the Recipe panel. Authoring options are also displayed In the Tasks panel, based on the type of work package you created.(Master work packages only) In the Plant panel, click Add , and then do the following.
In the Add Plant panel, in the Search text box, type the text to search and press Enter.
In the results list, select the preferred plant, select an optional Revision Rule to associate with the plant, and click Add Plant.
Select a Revision Rule to associate with the formula and click Add.
Type a Name, optionally type a Description, and accept or modify the ID or Revision values.
Click Add.
The selected recipe is displayed in the task panel.(Optional) Click the task tile to author a general, site, or master recipe.
Results
If you created a general or site recipe, the General Recipe Authoring or Site Recipe Authoring task page is displayed and is ready to be authored.
If you created a master recipe, the Master Recipe Authoring page is displayed and is ready to be authored.
