Manage BOMs
Copy and paste an in-context assembly
You can copy an assembly with in-context information and paste it elsewhere in the same MBOM. The Paste in Context command creates a new absolute occurrence of the assembly while retaining or updating in-context properties and attachments.
Paste assembly in-context is an important feature to carry over in-context information, such as in-context IDs (IDICs). The command also works in focus mode.
Procedure
If you have not done so already, search for and open an existing work package that contains a source and target bill of materials (BOM), and navigate to the BOM Alignment page.
In the target BOM panel, select the assembly that you want to copy to another assembly, right-click the selection, and choose Copy.
Select the assembly to which you want to paste the copied assembly, and from the target toolbar, choose Add → Create in Context → Paste in Context . The assembly is pasted and retains the IDIC and in-context properties and attachments. In the information panel, the context is also displayed in the Attachments tab.
