Electronic Work Instructions 2606 provides new features and enhancements. There are also certain issues and workarounds.

Installation

Caution

If you use work instructions authoring, you must install the Teamcenter database with UTF-8 encoding. If you install any other encoding, garbage characters are displayed in the Work Instructions pane within Easy Plan and in Electronic Work Instructions.

Custom report configuration

If you support custom reports in your environment, you must set the FOP_OPTS system environment variable to FOP_OPTS=-Djdk.xml.enableExtensionFunctions=true.

Known issues and workarounds

• If you upgrade from Electronic Work Instructions 5.0 or earlier to version 2606, you must perform an additional procedure before the installation. See Upgrading or patching from Electronic Work Instructions 5.0 or earlier for details.

• To ensure that thumbnail images align properly in the universal viewer, please change the AWC_defaultViewerConfig.VIEWERCONFIG preference value for thumbnail datasets from SnapShotViewData.Awp0ImageViewer=Image to SnapShotViewData.Awp0ImageViewer=Image,ThumbnailImage.
