Manage BOMs
Use basic source BOM and target BOM alignment commands
Basic commands allow you to expand or collapse and pack and unpack Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) and Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) assembly levels. If necessary, complete the following before proceeding to the basic commands below.
Search for and open a work package or CC object in Manufacturing-BOM Manager with a linked source engineering bill of materials (EBOM) and target manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) displayed on the BOM Alignment page.
Expand and contract assembly levels
In the source BOM and target BOM, select an assembly, and in the panel toolbar, click Expand →Expand Below or Collapse Below .
Note
You can also expand the structure a number of levels below a selected element.
In the toolbar, click →Expand to Level.
In the Expand to Level text box, type a number to indicate the level to which the assembly should be expanded or collapsed.
Press Enter.The assembly expands or collapses to the level you indicated.
Pack and unpack to collapse or expand element lines
Procedure
In the source BOM or target BOM , select one or more elements.
In the toolbar, click Expand →Pack or Unpack.
When you choose Pack, the number of packed lines is indicated by a number followed by the letter x. For example, 3x indicates that the packed line contains three packed lines. When you select a packed assembly and choose Unpack, the packed nodes are displayed.
Pack or unpack nodes one level below an assembly
Procedure
In the source BOM or target BOM , select an assembly.
In the toolbar, click Expand →Pack Below or Unpack Below.
When you choose Pack Below, all nodes one level below the selected assembly are packed into that assembly. The number of packed lines is indicated by a number followed by the letter x. For example, 3x indicates that the packed line contains 3 packed lines below it. When you select a packed assembly and choose Unpack Below, the packed nodes expand and are displayed beneath the selected assembly.
Remove elements from the source BOM or target BOM structure
Procedure
Select one or more elements in the source BOM or target BOM , and in the relevant toolbar, click Remove .
In the confirmation dialog box, click Remove again.
Results
The elements are removed from the source or target BOM structure.
