Override a tool requirement

While planning your tooling in a plant BOP structure, you may have a situation where you want to manually resolve a tool requirement while retaining the requirement definition. When you do this, Teamcenter adds a symbol to the tool requirement to indicate that it is manually overridden.

Procedure

1. Select the tool requirement in a plant BOP structure that you want to override.

2. Click the Edit tool requirement button or choose Tools→Logical Assignment→Edit Tool Requirement.

Teamcenter displays the Edit Tool Requirement dialog box.

3. Select the Override Criteria check box and click OK.

Teamcenter displays the override symbol on the tool requirement.

4. Click the Find Candidates button or choose Find Candidates from the shortcut menu.

Teamcenter opens the Classification view displaying the classification hierarchy.

5. Find the desired tool and drag it or copy and paste it to the tool requirement to resolve it.

Teamcenter resolves the tool requirement but retains the symbol indicating that the criteria are overridden.

Teamcenter also adds the tool to the process structure.

Results

If you compare a product BOP and plant BOP, the accountability check results indicate the presence of an overridden tool requirement.
