View Cortana 3D animation files in a BOP

You can play Cortana 3D animation files in Electronic Work Instructions (EWI) at the part or process level of a bill of process (BOP).

Prerequisites

You must have access to EWI version 6.2.8 or later to use this feature, and you must have access to the data you want to view.

Procedure

  1. With EWI open, search for and open a work package that contains processes and operations.

  2. Expand the BOP and select an object within it. For example, expand a subassembly and select a part.
Note In this example, we are using a part. However, you can view Cortana 3D animation files for either parts or processes.

  3. In the Animations tab, click a file. The Cortana 3D player displays a message while the animation file loads.

  4. Use the controls within the Cortana 3D player to play the animation file.

  5. (Optional) Manipulate the animation to search for missing data. For example, you can search for missing parts in an assembly, or for problems within a process.
