Run a scoped accountability check from EBOM to MBOM

To review assignment indications between selected nodes in a source BOM and a target BOM, you can run a scoped accountability check.

This check is applicable to both assembly (BOM view revision) and

usage BOMs

, and supports scoping across partitions. While you can also run a

partial BOM to BOM accountability check

, that command can only be run in

Focus

mode.

Prerequisites

The value of the preference

EP_EnableScopedComparisonForBOMBOM

must be set to

true

to enable scoped comparison between a source and a target BOM.

Procedure

  1. If you have not done so already, from a work package that contains valid source and target BOMs, navigate to the BOM Alignment page.

  2. To compare assignments between assemblies in the source and the target, select the appropriate node or nodes from the source panel and the target panel, and click Compare. Selections display blue comparison bars to better focus the scope comparisons.

  3. Enable the Show Assignment State assignment comparison control to display assignment indications. In this example, parts from an engineering bill of materials (EBOM) assembly are used multiple times in the manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM). On the EBOM panel, assignment status icons indications report mismatches across the selected source scopes.

  4. Review the accountability check results and make assignment changes as necessary.
Tip In the EBOM panel, click Assigned Multiple Times , and from the Find Assignment Under list, select the MBOM assignment node that you want to review.

Note If you open the BOM Alignment page with manufacturing change notice tracking enabled, the Change Summary panel opens. Tiles and assignment icons are shown only for scoped areas.
