Update production or cloned plant BOP or BOE structures

You can update structures from a linked production plant BOP to an alternative plant BOP, or vice versa, using an advanced accountability check. You can update structures from linked BOEs the same way. This functionality is available based on the default values of the MEAutoReviseWhilePropagation and MEReleaseStatusListForAutoRevise preferences.

Note

You should propagate your BOE before running an accountability check on a plant BOP.

Procedure

  1. Open the BOP or BOE production and alternative structures to be updated.

In this example, the production plant BOP at the top has changes in allocated time, changes to an operation's revision and item description, a new variant condition, and a new operation. Using the production plant BOP as the source of the changes, you can update the cloned plant BOP so that its recipient (a supplier using a single line and station) is kept up-to-date. The cloned plant BOP has already been released, with a status of Planning Synchronization State.

Note You can also propagate changes to shared or isolated studies, alternative planning projects, simulations, datasets, in-context edits, new and revised products, welds, arc welds, datums, and most content between production structures.

  2. Run an advanced accountability check between the entire production and cloned structures.

Select the source and target BOP or BOE structures that you want to update and choose Tools→Accountability Check→Advanced Accountability Check.

If necessary, in the Advanced Accountability Check dialog box, on the Inclusion Rules tab, select Search currently expanded source lines.

On the Reporting tab, select the Partial match, Missing target, and Missing source check boxes.

On the Partial Match tab, on the BOM Properties subtab, select and add the properties AIE_OCC_ID, AIE_OCC_NAME, Allocated Time, and Variant Conditions to the Selected Properties list. Note Allocated Time and Variant Conditions are relevant to the production and cloned BOPs described in the step 1 example. You should select properties relevant to your structure change properties.

On the General subtab, in the Process Structure group, select the Predecessors mismatch (incoming flows), Descendants (sub-processes and operations) mismatch between processes, and Activities mismatch check boxes.

    Click OK.

In this example, the accountability check shows one operation missing in the target (red) and a variety of partial matches (yellow) related to property changes.

  3. In the Accountability Check dialog box, in the Target list, press Ctrl and select each line you want to update or add, right-click the selection, and choose Propagate.

The target is updated to match the source. New items and items with changes now have cleared revision statuses.
